Mr. Ajit Gulabchand

Mr. Ajit Gulabchand is the Chairman of Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC). He served as Chairman and Managing Director for four decades, until 2023. Under his leadership, he transformed HCC from a major construction company into a globally recognized, diversified infrastructure group, committed to developing responsible infrastructure through innovative practices. With a group turnover exceeding ₹10,670 Cr (US$ 1.415 billion), HCC’s operations span engineering, construction, and infrastructure. Hailing from a family of nation builders, Mr. Gulabchand has made substantial contributions to modern India's growth. A graduate of Mumbai University, he previously served as CEO of Indian Hume Pipe Co. and Managing Director of Ravalgaon Sugar Farm. He became Managing Director of HCC in 1983 and Chairman in 1994.
